Robert Half is in need of an ambitious and articulate Collections Specialist to assume a role with an organization in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry. This Collections Specialist position in the Ajax, Ontario region is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. What you get to do every single day

- Oversee and update customer files to ensure data accuracy

- Yield to all Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act rules and regulations

- Handle inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence

- Act as a company representative in upholding quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries

- Ensure bankruptcy filings are processed in the correct manner when received

- Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines

- Register all customer payments to the correct reports

- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

- Guarantee the processing of payments

Job Requirements:
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Solid understanding of consumer collections

- Prior experience using accounting software

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred

- 2+ years of prior high volume collections experience

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

- Ability to analyze customer accounts and make decisions based on those analyses
