Role Description
- Develop detailed project plans, identifying resources, equipment, and budgets to meet milestones and cost targets.
- Oversee pre-electrical activities, including scope definition, scheduling, and risk identification.
- Lead project estimate preparation and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors for accurate cost estimates.
- Participate in Sales / Estimating Handoff Meetings to align on project goals and deliverables.
- Facilitate meetings with Foremen to review the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and ensure clarity of responsibilities.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, and financial health, conducting regular reviews with the PMO and BU Managers.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts and subcontracts, ensuring alignment with financial and scheduling goals.
- Manage the procurement process, including material and equipment purchases, shop drawing approvals, and subcontracts.
- Handle scope changes, pricing, and communicate impacts to clients through approved Change Order Requests.
- Resolve customer satisfaction issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Assist in sales, estimating, and engineering activities by providing technical evaluations and costings for new work.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in construction or retrofit, particularly in electrical, mechanical, structural, or engineering projects.Previous work experience as an electrician would be an assetA relevant trade license or a Construction / Engineering Diploma / Degree.PMP certification, considered a strong asset.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Project), Accubid, and AutoCAD.In-depth knowledge of electrical materials, construction methods, and estimating principles.A strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, construction practices, standards, and regulations.The ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately.Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.Experience with institutional projects is highly desirable.Here’s what we offer :
