Responsibilities :
The Software Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day support of the Siemens Mobility Canada dispatch and communications software products.
The Software Support Specialist provides guidance and troubleshooting for customer issues and provides support for maintenance activities.
Duties :
- Provide remote support to dispatch and maintenance customers by providing first-hand expertise.
- Perform routine system performance monitoring.
- Perform and support investigations and root cause analysis of issues and provide reports.
- Provide training and guidance to customers on the operation of their systems.
- Implement the best possible action plan of response to mitigate delays during unplanned emergency operations.
- Provide on-call emergency support as part of a support group.
- Support the testing and commissioning of software releases.
Essential Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelors of Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming / Analyst, Software Engineering, or related field, or work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a related function.
- Bilingual (English & French)
- Strong communications skills; ability to sustain technical conversations by phone or email.
- Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot.
- Comfortable working in Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong ability to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Assets :
- Experience with networking and relational databases.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with SQL.
