POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the VP Construction, as a MEIT Manager at Lundy you'll support both business development and operations by providing mechanical / electrical expertise from project inception to completion.
You’ll assist in design and constructability reviews, identify and solve technical issues, oversee commissioning processes, and ensures quality control throughout projects’ lifecycles.
By ensuring that complex technical systems are delivered efficiently and effectively, you'll lighten the burden on our project teams and make a critical contribution to the success of each project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review RFQ / RFP or bid / tender documentation and make recommendations.
- Manage projects’ Mechanical and Electrical packages and support the Lundy project team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that MEIT trades contracted on Lundy projects are compliant in the delivery of their work.
- Support the project team with the preparation, negotiation, and approval of all Prime Contracts and sub-trade change order requests that have an MEIT component.
- Support the Estimating department and project teams during the subcontracting process, including facilitating initial MEIT scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work, and managing the subcontract distribution and final execution processes.
- Assist with the coordination of all relevant project drawings and information to eliminate clash issues.
- Ensure that a formal MEIT risk-management process is implemented on each project and work towards mitigating risks throughout the project’s lifecycle.
- Support the project team with the requirements for contract close-out to achieve formal project acceptance.
- Support the project team with related warranty processes and procedures for completed projects.
- Oversee relationships with MEIT clients and supply chains, including suppliers and subcontractors.
- Produce a commissioning plan for each project and ensure that plan is monitored and managed successfully.
- Provide input into proper project planning, scheduling, staffing, cost control and project management related to MEIT elements.
- Assist project staff in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFIs, shop drawings, and administer mechanical / electrical project completion requirements (OMMs).
- Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups through proactive engagement on all MEIT issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- 5+ years experience in a MEIT related role along with a proficiency in more than one specialization.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and team-centric company culture.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of respect for timelines.
- A strong understanding of construction documents and processes, i.e. RFIs, submittals and shop drawings.
- The ability to translate technical information to those who are non-technical.
- Demonstrated success in effectively prioritizing tasks based on demand and deadlines and the ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- A track record that clearly demonstrates effective leadership when interacting with multiple external clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office including : Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with project or construction management software (i.e Procore).
- An ability to read, understand, interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent English language reading, writing and speaking skills.
- Effective and collaborative communicator with the ability to develop productive working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Sense of urgency and drive to succeed. Must be comfortable working within a deadline driven fast paced environment.
- Resourceful, energetic and well organized with the experience and proven ability to set and manage competing priorities.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently as required.
- Driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites.
- Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Secret’ security clearance is required.
