The Opportunity :

We’re looking for an Enterprise Risk Specialist to join our Enterprise Risk Management team.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management the Enterprise Risk Specialist is responsible for working closely with senior stakeholders to assess and monitor emerging and developing risks.

Your expertise will drive the implementation of additional controls and mitigations, reducing risk for Aviso and enhancing our control environment.

What your day looks like :

  • Consult with senior stakeholders to annually refresh Aviso’s enterprise risk management framework, including risk appetite statements and key risk indicators
  • Lead workshops with internal senior stakeholders to understand their specific risk exposures, and identify and assess key risk indicators to support monitoring of emerging risks
  • Recommend and advise on additional controls and mitigations to improve Aviso’s control environment and reduce risk
  • Coach internal senior stakeholders on conducting risk assessments, and proactive risk mitigations
  • Manage quarterly risk register process to prioritize and oversee the management of Aviso’s top risks, including ensuring adequate controls are in place and risk mitigation strategies are planned or in progress
  • Lead the drafting of the quarterly senior management and Board of Directors reports, including collect, organize, and visualize risk metric information
  • Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders to mature the crisis management program, including maintaining and updating crisis management plans and procedures, and developing and leading tabletop exercises

Requirements

Your experience and skills :

Minimum 5-8 years relevant enterprise and / or operational risk management experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

2+ years in a senior position

  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation, RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional certification, Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification or similar is preferred
  • Crisis Management or Business Continuity Certification (ABCP, CBCP) is an asset
  • Proven experience in risk identification, risk analysis, risk treatment and implementing risk management strategies
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively influencing stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, accountable, results driven and proactive
  • Exceptional relationship building skills ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Advanced Power Point skills
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $80,000 - $105,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
