EHS Manager

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives across our manufacturing operations in Canada. This is a multi-site leadership role responsible for driving strategic alignment, continuous improvement, and a culture of Zero Harm across the organization.As the senior EHS leader, you'll own the company-wide EHS Management System, ensuring compliance, consistency, and operational excellence. You'll coach leaders, harmonize best practices, and build a proactive safety culture where people and performance thrive together.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Systems & GovernanceLead and continuously enhance the EHS Management System to meet IMS and ISO 45001 / 14001 standards.Standardize and harmonize EHS policies, procedures, and KPIs across multiple sites.Drive strategic planning, performance reporting, and leadership engagement in EHS initiatives.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure full compliance with Ontario and Canadian EHS regulations.Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and control verification.Oversee third-party certifications and audits, ensuring timely closure of findings.Program Implementation & Continuous ImprovementImplement and sustain key EHS programs (LOTO, machine safeguarding, contractor control, ergonomics, hazardous energy, WHMIS, environmental controls, and emergency response).Champion a culture of Zero Harm—driving engagement, learning, and accountability across teams.Partner cross-functionally to integrate product and process safety learnings.Leadership & CultureLead, mentor, and develop a network of EHS professionals and champions across multiple locations.Coach operational leaders to embed safety ownership into daily routines.Lead root cause investigations and corrective / preventive actions with precision and transparency.Metrics & ReportingEstablish and monitor key EHS KPIs, including TRIR / LTIR, risk assessment completion, and audit performance.Present performance insights to leadership and support data-driven decision-making.QualificationsMust Have : Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in high voltage electrical equipment manufacturing.Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 / 14001 systems and Ontario / Canadian EHS regulations.Proven success leading multi-site programs and achieving measurable KPI improvements.Expertise in machine safety, LOTO, contractor management, WHMIS, and emergency response.Exceptional leadership, influence, and communication skills.Nice to Have : Professional certifications (CRSP, CSP, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).Experience in dielectric / high-voltage testing environments.Exposure to lean / OpEx methodologies and environmental compliance (air, waste, spills).Success Indicators (First 12-18 Months)Reduction in TRIR / LTIR versus baseline.100% completion of critical risk assessments and timely closure of high-risk findings.Harmonized EHS procedures, training, and audit conformance across all Canadian sites.Successful surveillance and certification audits with zero major nonconformities.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
