In this role, you are accountable and have a leadership role in using data and analytics to improve our understanding of client behaviours, as well as improve in-market strategies and inform the design of our suite of products.
You will work collaboratively with the Cards team on high priority initiatives and using advanced analytics, tools and multiple data sources (e.
g. client segment data, bureau data, client behaviour data across all RBC products, online and mobile interaction data, etc.
to formulate strategies to optimize the business, improve the client experience and increase shareholder value.
Note Strong preference for experienced Sr. Manager.
What will you do?
- Take ownership and use / combine complex data and analytics to develop strategic insights and inform ad enhance business decision-making
- Effectively partner with key stakeholders to understand the priorities needs of the specific business, proactively identify opportunities to inform business decisions, including :
- Measuring key indicators of performance and early detection of opportunities, trends & anomalies
- Developing business cases to explore new opportunities with insights on client behavior, market intelligence and financial implications
- Optimizing existing product suites, acquisitions and engagement strategies through effective monitoring, deep dives and test and learn
- Lead key data infrastructure initiatives, with the objective of improving data consistency and access across Cards team, and its partners
- Work collaboratively with the Cards team, and other analytics teams across the organization (including and not limited to CRM&A, CXDI, DABI, DNA, and PM&CS)
- Provide and communicate concise, timely and insightful reporting to various stakeholders, including senior management on relevant matters relating to the Cards portfolio
- Elevate analytical skillset across the Cards community through self-serve capability and education of data infrastructure and
- Coach and develop a team of highly talented professionals to promote leading edge analytical capabilities
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
- Experience in financial services (Cards is a bonus!), with an understanding of economics drivers
- University degree in quantitative field of study (e.g. statistics, economics, business, engineering) and 3+ years related work experience with :
- Advanced SQL / Teradata, Python, R etc
- Strong SAS or equivalent programming experience
- Ability to be effective and equally conversant in business and technical environment
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong knowledge and experience developing statistical models and applying their output in practical strategies including logistic regression, optimization, decision trees, neural nets, cluster analysis, divergence, KS, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-based actionable recommendations
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the integrity and confidence to liaise with senior leadership
- Proven experience in coaching and developing a high performing team, fostering teamwork, cross-unit & cross-functional cooperation and information sharing
