Data Analyst (Contract Position)

Must be eligible to work in Canada
Hybrid position, 3days / week onsite in Markham ON
Roles and responsibilities :
Support implementation of data governance and privacy frameworks in Personal Insurance (PI) by :
applying a business lens to prioritize and building the capabilities such as, data quality management, data protection, and data lineage, etc.
Identify process gaps or optimization opportunities that will help data controls to become more efficient, and robust, i.
e. better way to document data lineage
Liaise with business and risks stakeholders to ensure policies, and standards are interpreted as clear business requirements, and PI has a workplan to execute
Deliver data governance & privacy products, e.g. data quality reports, data maps
Must have skills and experience :
- Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology Management, Engineering, Science, or Computer Science;
- 5+ years of experience in data-related roles, e.g. data analytics, data management, data privacy, system developer
- Progressive experience in data governance, data management, process improvement, analytics with large, complex organizations and multi-functional / matrix project teams;
- Ability to build relationships and trust with executives and business sponsors; Results driven, dedicated and able to work with little direction;
- Experience managing data improvement initiatives and making recommendations encompassing people, process, and technology capabilities;
- Experience facilitating and leading workshops with multi-functional partners at various levels within the organization;
- Excellent project management, organization, written, verbal and presentation skills; Inquisitive and curious nature with a relentless focus on continuous improvement;
- Proficient in data query language such as SQL, familiarity with database modeling concepts
Nive to have skills :
- Candidates with P&C insurance background, high level understanding of what P&C data entails
- Familiarity with P&C insurance admin systems, such as Guidewire etc.
