Laboratory Technician C - Seasonal Rotation Schedule

Summary :
AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Laboratory Technician C that has some introductory experience using Porosity / Permeability instrumentation.
This position has a seasonal basis, with a four days on, four days off schedule from 8 AM 8 PM .
In this position, the successful candidate will be able to work independently on laboratory activities, as well as collaborate other team members.
This position will be working in our Rock Mechanics Lab in our Calgary location .
Duties :
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
- Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
- Report results
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Degree required.
- 0-2 year’s previous laboratory experience.
- Experience with Core Porosity / Permeability instruments is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency using Excel and reporting results.
- Mature work ethic, with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
- Problem solving, communication, organization, and time management.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds on a consistent basis.
