As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer or Specialist, you'll become a critical member of the Technical Airworthiness Group (TAG), and will help to provide support, training, feedback and guidance to Engineering teams across our corporation.

What You'll do :

Collaborate with TAG Engineers, Engineering Directors / Managers, and other functional groups in order to :

Identify potential targets for innovation projects. Assist with data mining needed to formulate & support value proposition for new projects based on data from Navixa, SA Menu etc.

Identify trends and opportunities processes lacking adequate control (high variability in results), ideas for cost or TAT reduction, subcontract repatriation etc.

  • Participate in containment exercises for Quality Escapes. Conduct complex data analysis which will be needed to identify common threads before finalizing the list of affected population.
  • Lead & support strategic planning for integration of AI tools into Engineering practices and processes. Provide input for AI Roadmap / Strategy as it relates to the Engineering and Quality functions.

Lead & support projects and tasks to execute on that strategic plan.

  • Create skills training that is relevant to Engineering and Quality staff, with focus on basic queries to access and analyze StandardAero’s data.
  • Create & refine universal queries and reports to help in generation of Engineering KPIs across the enterprise. Identify and recommend changes to corporate ERP software to improve data capture in support of analytics.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of both Navixa and SA Menu ERP systems. Identify best practices (design or functionality features) for sharing between platforms, then collaborate with MIS Business Analysts and stakeholders to drive improvements to ERP applications.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Technologist Diploma will also be considered
  • Exceptional skills and demonstrated Critical Thinking ability.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with a variety of data analysis applications (examples : MS Access, Excel, APEX and Power BI) is needed for this role.

Preferred Skills & Experience :

  • Prior experience with Project management, project management tools, project planning and time management.
  • Strong business acumen to derive insights from historical data.
  • Strong written communication skills in multiple formats (., PowerPoint, Word, email) to support commercial reporting requirements.
  • Ability to present methodologies, assumptions and conclusions to different types of audiences from front line teams to executive leadership.
  • Ability to pull and synthesize data from various sources.
  • Proficiency in use of statistical formulas, techniques and applications.
  • Proficiency in validating datasets and driving data quality from source.
  • Understanding of database management and tools, experience in writing SQL queries.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, dynamic environments and evolving requirements .
  • Comfortable working in office and manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement tools and techniques an asset.
