Job Description :

Manulife is looking for an experienced lawyer for a 1-year contract to join our Insurance - Group Benefits Legal Team. You will have the opportunity to provide legal support for our business across Canada, including :

  • Advising on impacts of laws across the country and providing legal expertise to our life and health insurance business.
  • Drafting and negotiating key strategic contracts with our plan sponsors and vendors.
  • Supporting the development of digital-focused and customer-centric insurance products.
  • Collaborating with business partners to support our business objectives.
  • Handling legal risk considering our unique business needs and innovative legal solutions.
  • Creating and developing templates, playbooks and processes.
  • Advising in insurance, corporate commercial, digital, privacy, data, cyber, technology and health law.

Location : Hybrid minimum 3 days a week in one of our Canadian offices (Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Waterloo)

Salary & Benefits :

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location : Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between : $114,730.00 CAD - $213,070.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education / training.

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
