Job title : Senior Canadian Tax Accountant
Location : Ottawa, ON
Permanent, Full-time.
Main responsibilities :
- Supporting the preparation and review of different Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3, and T5013) and tax election forms.
- Assisting Partners and Managers with tax planning projects.
- Participating in special assignments.
- Researching tax issues and drafting memoranda.
- Communicating with tax authorities regarding audits and information requests.
- Developing and delivering technical training sessions for staff.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a public accounting firm.
- Minimum 4 years of Canadian tax experience.
- A professional designation.
- A commitment to learning in a tax environment.
- Research, analytical and problem identification skills
- Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
