Lead installation, commissioning, and verification activities on Fire Alarm related equipment for all types of installations, including connection of devices and circuits.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
Supervise, delegate, and coordinate work with co-workers and electricians working on Fire Alarm systems.
Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJs and other interested parties.
Complete As-Built drawings on the completion of the job.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various product lines.
Identify deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification.
Troubleshoot hardware issues, ground faults, and open and short circuits.
Travel throughout the District business area when required.
Conduct programming modifications to an existing system without supervision.
Program audio and non-audio standalone systems (upon training).
Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers.
Mentor less experienced technicians.

QualificationsWhat we look for : Required

Minimum 3 years of experience within the Fire Protection industry.

Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical / Electronic or equivalent experience.

Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent.

Knowledgeable of provincial building & fire codes for verification purposes.

Demonstrated ability to program basic fire alarm systems without supervision.

Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.

Advanced troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment.

Ability to express clear technical solutions clearly and concisely.40 lbs

Ability to lift equipment and tools to 40lbs.

Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Strong communication skills, leadership skills, and customer service focus.
