The Opportunity

Vermilion Energy is hiring a Director, Corporate HSE in our Calgary head office. If you have a passion for driving positive change in HSE, we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for the development and deployment of our HSE strategies, working in close co-ordination with our executive leadership team and the Vermilion Board of Directors.

You will ensure compliance with all corporate requirements in each of our operated regions. You will be a key driver in supporting our organization to become an HSE leader in the industry.

What you will do

Provide overall leadership and direction of all global HSE strategies and programs

Lead the HSE committee, comprised of HSE representatives from each business unit

Provide reporting on HSE performance to the board of directors and on the company’s abandonment and reclamation liabilities

Ensure HSE vision enables us to be HSE leaders within our peer group

Advise executive team on HSE issues; bring forward individual country needs to respective VP’s

Develop and implement overall HSE policies and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements globally in all regions

Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to achieve HSE strategies

Develop and monitor annual HSE targets and KPIs

Lead HSE due diligence activities for new global acquisitions

Lead compilation and submission of reports to regulatory agencies

What you will bring

15 years of experience in a senior HSE leadership role, with years prior spent gaining a breadth of experience in health and safety

A clear demonstration of leadership growth and increasing responsibilities throughout your career

Demonstrated ability to drive change required to improve HSE performance and results

A CRSP / CSP certified HSE professional is preferred
