The Client :
The Client is a Canadian owned industry leader in Specialty Insurance looking for someone to join their Claims team. They are known for providing unique and niche insurance solutions across Canada with a wide range of products from Professional Lines, Environmental / Pollution, Construction, Specialty Commercial Programs, Specialty Personal Lines & Marine.
What you will achieve in this role :
- The Claims Examiner will handle both first- and third- party claims with exposures across Canada, including files in litigation.
- Effectively manage, investigate, negotiate and resolve all types of claim assignments.
- Timely and accurately analyze and address coverage issues under various insurance policies.
- Liase with adjusters, counsel, experts, and Underwriters to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages.
- Complete timely and concise claim reports.
- Attend settlement conferences and mediation.
Qualifications and Skills required :
- 5 years of claims examining or adjusting experience, involvement with specialty lines.
- Bilingual French & English.
- Experience in handling claims files involved in litigation.
- Strong understanding and ability to intercept policy wordings.
- The ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure.
- Excellent investigation, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer service focus, verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of skills with Microsoft Office Applications.
- University or College is preferred.
- CIP or currently enrolled in institute courses to obtain CIP.
