The candidate will be responsible for :
- Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS and NMR.
- Performing analyses using bench chemical techniques such as TLC, titrimetry and gravimetry.
- Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
- Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
- Performing routine maintenance and / or calibration of analytical instruments and documenting these activities.
- Completing paperwork for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.
- Ensuring appropriate tracking and logging of samples.
- Identifying test results which are out of specification and alerting a manager or supervisor when this occurs.
- Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.
The successful candidate for this position should have :
- Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.
- Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis on Chemistry preferred
- Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
