Lidar Mobile Mapping Specialist - Land

We are assisting our client, a reputable Geomatics company in the Greater Toronto Area, in their search for a Mobile Lidar Analyst.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustaining Engineering team. Our pavement research and design services utilize cutting-edge technology to streamline road infrastructure projects.

By employing the latest hardware and software, we deliver essential roadway data to enhance asset design, safety, and performance.

The Mobile Lidar Mapping Specialist will be responsible for developing processes and procedures, as well as providing project support for Mobile Lidar system operations.

Additionally, this individual will handle data processing and delivery

Salary : $65-80 / HR

Location : Mississauga, ON (primarily remote with occasional visit on-site). Some travel within North America may required - no more than 10%.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct and oversee Mobile mapping process using LiDAR & Imagery.
  • Conduct system calibration.
  • Provide technical input for LiDAR project planning & execution.
  • Assist with the establishment and improvement of project procedures.
  • Conduct point cloud processing and registration.
  • Ensure optimal data acquisition process for effective, efficient, and accurate data.
  • Define and assist feature extraction process.
  • Ensure point cloud and extracted asset data accuracy.
  • Ensure all aspects of LiDAR project deliverable to meet specification.
  • Other relevant tasks deemed needed to support LiDAR business operation and other relevant business unit.

Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics or relevant studies, or a comparable combined education and experience level is required.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada, without restrictions.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Mobile mapping & LiDAR is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Mobile mapping & is preferred.
  • Experience with TopoDOT and Microstation is required.
  • Proficient understanding of LiDAR waveform and georeferencing is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of LiDAR sensor hardware and integration is preferred.
