LOCATION : Apply Digital is hybrid / remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) .

THE ROLE :

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, strategic financial decision-making, and risk management.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial leadership within the consulting and technology sectors, a deep understanding of digital transformation, and a proven track record of driving financial performance in high-growth environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Financial Strategy and Planning :

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Oversee M&A-related initiatives.

Financial Management :

  • Ensure robust financial management systems and controls are in place.
  • Manage the company’s financial performance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management.
  • Oversee accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Business Partnering :

  • Partner with business units to drive financial performance and achieve growth targets.
  • Support project teams with financial insights and analysis to enhance decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies and optimize revenue models.

Risk Management :

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market, operational, and credit risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the company’s assets are safeguarded through appropriate insurance and risk mitigation strategies.

Investor Relations :

  • Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors and investors.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, to support growth initiatives.

Digital Transformation :

  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies to enhance financial processes and reporting.
  • Leverage data analytics to improve financial decision-making and business insights.
  • Ensure the finance function is equipped to support the company’s digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support our growth organization in building business cases for transformation for our clients.

Team Leadership :

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department.
  • Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure succession planning and talent retention.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive within a consulting, technology, or digital transformation company.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in driving financial performance in high-growth environments. Ability to partner with the growth, delivery and enablement teams to drive performance.
  • Expertise in digital transformation and the application of technology in finance.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, with a record of successful integrations.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of NetSuite.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An entrepreneurial thinker and a solution-focused problem solver.
  • Ideally situated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and able to travel as required.
