Engineering Project Manager II
Location : Moncton, New Brunswick
Status : Full time
Reports to : Manager of Engineering for Moncton / Winnipeg / Lac‑Superieur
Position Summary
As an Engineering Project Manager II, you will support the Moncton, Winnipeg and Lac‑Superieur leadership teams in project engineering and operational efficiency. The role requires a self‑starter who excels at complex problem solving, decision‑making, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will lead projects of significant complexity and impact, progressively building expertise toward Project Manager III.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously
- Specialize in at least one area (e.g., packaging, cultivation, extraction) and develop expertise in additional areas
- Support manufacturing processes through all lifecycle stages, including conception, design, execution, commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Lead CAPEX project planning and execution, ensuring budget, schedule, safety, regulatory, and quality requirements are met
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase profitability, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and product quality
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, R&D, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other departments to provide technical support, including troubleshooting, training, data analysis, and collection
- Develop online tools to improve workflow and data extraction
- Research, select, and install process equipment in collaboration with the R&D department
- Design, source, and implement fixtures, jigs, go / no‑go gauges, Poke Yokes, sensors, and other tools to reduce cost, eliminate failure modes, and optimize production rates
- Perform hands‑on duties, such as assisting with production activities and assembling equipment
- Reduce occurrence and improve detection of failure modes by leveraging PFMEA methodology, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Support the development of preventative and predictive maintenance criteria
- Develop technical documentation related to existing products, processes, and equipment
- Work flexible hours as business needs require
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations management or equivalent experienceProven experience in project / process management of significant complexity and valueMinimum 5 years of experience in Engineering and Operations in KPI‑driven roles involving Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Project ManagementExperience in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, food, or CPG industries is an assetLean Manufacturing training and / or experienceKnowledge of an ERP / MRP system and mastery of IT tools such as Excel, Access, D365, CADHighly autonomous and self‑drivenDemonstrated ability to continuously develop and apply leadership skills in complex environmentsHands‑on approach to problem solvingAnalytical mindsetStrong sense of urgency in meeting deadlinesAbility to handle multiple projects with independent and team workflowsMust thrive in a fast‑paced environment with multiple prioritiesStrong communication skillsSeniority Level
