The Gas Technician / Burner mechanic will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for maintenance and installations within Rainbow District School Board.
Regular travel to sites in the Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island areas will be required.
The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 diploma and Gas Technician 1 certificate. An Oil Burner Technician certificate would be an asset.
A minimum of 4 years experience as a certified technician in commercial and institutional work is preferred. The individual will require a thorough knowledge of all applicable codes and have the ability to troubleshoot and repair heating, combustion, distribution and control systems.
Preference will be given to individuals with additional experience in building control systems, pneumatics and air conditioning.
This position requires an individual who can work independently and has strong written and oral communication skills. As this position requires travel between sites, a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
The salary rate is $35.58 per hour. (September 1, 2023) Hours of work are Monday to Friday 7 am to 3 : 30 pm. There is the possibility of overtime and callouts.
