Job Description
The Planner / Scheduler is responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for fabrication, installation, and maintenance of industrial process systems.
Working with all levels of supervision to ensure projects, outages and shutdowns and maintenance are properly, thoroughly and safely planned and executed by developing the sequence and lead time for each operation to meet the client forecasted master schedule.
Additionally, they are responsible for working with designated procurement staff to ensure that any necessary materials and supplies are available to facilitate efficient and effective work schedules.
This position reports to the Project Controls Manager.
What would you be doing?
- Collaborate with Site Managers and project teams to develop, monitor, and analyze project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are delivered on time.
- Coordinate and manage outside services, handle administrative tasks, and ensure all spending is approved by the Project Manager while maintaining a master project schedule.
- Mentor and evaluate junior schedulers / planners, delivering accurate and timely project reports, and identifying areas of concern to propose effective solutions.
- Recommend improvements to the planning and scheduling process, ensuring adherence to safety standards and fostering a positive safety culture.
- Lead project initiation phases, review contractor schedules for feasibility, and oversee effective planning, construction, and project turnover.

Qualifications
- Strong project planning and scheduling expertise, with proficiency in MS Projects and / or Primavera software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, superb organizational skills, and the ability to interpret regulations, policies, and specifications.
- Safe and productive work ethic, with experience reading drawings and applying technical knowledge.
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent training / experience in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of industrial scheduling experience and familiarity with computer-based scheduling software.
