Activity Attendant (Activity Aide)
Caressant Care McLaughlin Road, is seeking an Activity Aide to join our accomplished team of professionals at our 96-bed long term care home in Lindsay, Ontario.
The Activity Attendant plans, organizes and conducts recreational and social activities to meet the identified interests of our residents.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Organizing social and recreational activities for our residents.
- Obtaining supplies as authorized.
- Maintaining appropriate records and reports.
- Maintaining a safe environment for activities.
- Establishing community relationships
- Developing our volunteer pool
- Creating an activity calendar with both facilitated and self directed activities
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :
- Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university OR must be enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field
- Self starter
- Team Player
- Friendly and outgoing
- Knowledge of elderly population, aging process and current trends in assisted living communities
- Computer literate (able to use MS word, excel, and Internet)
- Punctual and reliable
- Proof of full vaccination mandatory
This is a part-time position, daytime hours, with some evening and weekend shifts. Starting rate is $19.98 / hr. Working conditions per collective agreement.
Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening is required.
