Position overview
Are you experienced in planning and scheduling maintenance work orders? Are you passionate about analyzing data to boost the airport's maintenance performance through insightful reports?
We have a full-time, term (to September 2025) opportunity for an Airfield Maintenance Planner in the Airfield Operations Department.
Reporting to the Manager, Airfield Maintenance Services, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in making improvements to maintenance productivity by developing work plans and procedures, and by having the right jobs ready at the right time.
Key responsibilities include :
- Planning and scheduling all work orders and assigning the work to staff; this will be done in collaboration with Operations in order to ensure minimal impact to the airport
- Creating, using and maintaining asset, resource, and equipment history, and other technical files
- Developing and reviewing work plans and procedures for maintenance work, and supporting the development and maintenance of departmental programs and plans
- Reviewing completed work orders for information, remarks, variances and other data; this includes following up with other departments to ensure that standards are being met on a consistent basis
- Analyzing data that allows for the preparation of complex reports regarding performance
- Managing inventories for the Airside Operations Building and planning asset servicing
Key qualifications include :
Minimum of three years’ recent, related and progressive experience in airfield maintenance planning or maintenance planning, supplemented by a post-secondary certificate or diploma;
or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Good understanding of the operational impacts of airfield maintenance activities
- Excellent working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably Maximo; a certificate in any CMMS is considered an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment applied in the maintenance of modern assets
- Ability to perform mathematical computations involved in estimating and purchasing
- Valid BC driver’s license with a clear Driver’s Abstract
Some irregular work will be required to support seasonal or weather-related operational programs.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.
Salary Range : $76,809 to $100,387 per annum, based on a 40-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
