Role Overview : As the CFO of a smaller, high-growth startup, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring our financial health.
This position requires a blend of strategic insight, financial acumen, and hands-on execution. You’ll be a key member of the executive team, collaborating closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive our business forward.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Strategy & Leadership : Develop and execute financial strategies that align with our business goals. Provide strategic guidance on financial planning, risk management, and capital structure.
- Financial Management : Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for decision-making.
- Investor Relations : Manage relationships with investors and stakeholders. Prepare financial reports, presentations, and updates to communicate the company’s financial performance and strategic plans.
- Operational Oversight : Work closely with other departments to drive efficiency and financial discipline across the organization.
Implement and monitor financial controls and processes.
- Strategic Planning : Support long-term business planning and strategic initiatives. Analyze market trends, business opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Identify and mitigate financial risks, including regulatory and operational risks.
- Team Leadership : Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of financial excellence and continuous improvement within the department.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial planning.
- Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with funding processes and investor relations.
- Nice to have : E xperience with direct-to-consumer or e-commerce brands is a plus; Experience with fundraising capital
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
