Role Summary :
The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and strategic alignment of all financial activities for the business.
This role is a strategic business partner and financial leader who is responsible for leading and coaching the finance team.
Additionally, this role provides valuable insights and analysis to support the achievement of corporate and business unit goals.
The Director of Finance's responsibilities will include overseeing budgeting, forecasting, accounting, annual external audits and compliance, as well as financial reporting to ensure smooth and efficient funds management.
They will manage and direct the department and will have staff reporting directly to them, and as such, regular feedback and evaluations will be required.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring accurate, timely and efficient management of financial transactions and records
- Create and manage all financial budgets and forecasts, providing insights and ensuring alignment with financial objectives
- Generate monthly financial reports, analyze data and deliver financial insights that support informed decision making
- Manage tax filing processes, handle audits, and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and tax regulations including internal control, support internal and external audits
- Lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes, Including accounts payable, credit card transactions, and bank reconciliations 2024
- Cultivate and maintain strong business relationships with fronting companies and financial institutions
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of company finances, personnel files, and client information
- Producing monthly bordereaux production reports
- Approving and managing expenses and balancing of company funds
- RIBO reporting
- Establish profitability standards and financial goals for the company
- Lead in the execution and reporting of business plans, budgets, and KPI's
- Ensure adherence to all standards, company policies and regulatory requirements
- Train and develop a skilled accounting team capable of meeting operational demands and maintaining high standards in financial management
Role Requirements :
- Accounting designation, specifically CPA
- 10+ years of financial experience in a senior accounting or finance role
- Insurance-related senior accounting experience is a must
- Experience with internal and external audit processes
- Solid experience in leading and managing a team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self motivated, creative and innovative
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
- Ability to lead a team to drive results
- Must be results-oriented, and take initiative
