We are presently accepting resumes for one (1) Full-Time Temporary Assignment Awake Overnight Support Worker. This position will be assigned to work in our group homes in Barrie, working up to 37.5 hours per week. This position works primarily the awake overnight with occasional day hours being scheduled to attend training and/or team meetings. This is a six (6) month contract positions.

Compensation Package:

  • Additional hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $24.63/hour;
  • 11 paid Statutory Holidays;
  • Confidential Employee Assistance program for you and for your immediate family.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, etc.) as determined by the employer or a PSW certification from an accredited education facility is required;
  • Candidates who have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people;
  • When submitting your resume and cover letter, please also upload a copy of your diplomas / degrees. In your resume, please ensure that you specify the length of your programs.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays, as well as shifts other than the awake overnight shift when scheduled;
  • A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is considered an asset.

Role/Duties:

Our Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities include providing support during overnight shifts, personal care, household duties, meal preparation and finances. You may also support people to appointments or events to foster connections within the community.
