City of CoquitlamCoquitlam, CanadáRegular Full Time
We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-kwuh-tlum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
One of BC’s Top Employers, the City of Coquitlam offers meaningful career opportunities to make a difference within the local community. As the sixth largest city in BC, we are home to more than 150,000 residents. Our diverse municipality is a great place to work as it continues to grow through innovative urban design, inspiring arts, culture and recreation programs, and state-of-the-art transportation systems. Our brand is built on managing our resources in a responsible and sustainable manner, while supporting a vibrant, growing regional urban centre. We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes you!
We are currently hiring for one Regular Full Time employee to join our rapidly growing Facilities division, within the greater Parks, Recreation, Culture & Facilities department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and developing City-owned facilities lifecycle plans and schedules and budgets. You will use your excellent research and analytical skills to use data to determine if repairs or replacements are required throughout various City facilities, while ensuring you are abiding by building bylaws, codes and regulations. As the Facilities Asset Management Planner, you will act as the Project Manager of an array of asset management, facility maintenance and capital projects. This will include preparing and overseeing budgets concerning the City’s buildings and necessary equipment.
The successful candidate will utilize their excellent communication and relationship building skills, while working with a variety of internal and external contacts. You will further work with staff and outside contractors to ensure that work is completed effectively. If you enjoy utilizing your knowledge of facility lifecycle planning, while working with a wide variety of people, we look forward to your application!
Our ideal candidate will have completed a Diploma in Building Systems Technology or a related field, plus at least 3 years of related experience in asset management of facilities. An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered. Please note that a Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
