About Emil Anderson Group

Emil Anderson Group (EAG) is a fourth‑generation, BC‑based organization headquartered in Kelowna and operating throughout British Columbia. Our family of companies provides services and support in infrastructure construction and maintenance, land development, residential and commercial building, and property management.

Founded in 1938, we’ve grown to include a diverse group of companies, each with a reputation for integrity, quality, and efficiency. Our collaborative approach brings owners, partners, and stakeholders together to design and deliver services that advance our companies and the communities we serve.

We take pride in our people, our work, and our contribution to the projects and services that connect and strengthen communities across British Columbia. With regional offices and facilities in Kelowna and the Fraser Valley, we are positioned to serve communities throughout the province.

Our success is rooted in our Core Values : Safety, Leadership, Improvement, Commitment, and Excellence. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a skilled Mobile Trade Journeyperson Welder to join our team, based out of our West Kelowna shop.

As a Mobile Equipment Fabricator / Welder with Emil Anderson Equipment (EAE), you’ll carry out maintenance welding, custom fabrication, and structural repairs on mobile heavy equipment. Your attention to detail, precision, and dedication to high standards will help ensure our fleet stays dependable and downtime is kept to a minimum.

Although we are a union affiliated‑affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks on fleet equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Conduct inspections and upkeep of welding tools and equipment to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to swiftly complete repairs and reduce downtime.
  • Assist mechanics in diagnosing issues related to structural integrity and recommend welding or fabrication solutions
  • Fabricate custom parts, attachments, and components to extend equipment life or improve performance
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, weldment models, and drawings accurately.
  • Mentor and support apprentices to foster their growth and trade skill development.
  • Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and pre-use inspections on mobile welding units; identify and report equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, parts used, and time allocations
  • Perform any additional tasks required to support team and project goals.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid British Columbia Class 3 driver’s license with air-brake endorsement and a clean driving record is an asset.
  • Completion of a registered welding apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience; full Red Seal certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, including cutting, gouging, grinding, and other metal-working techniques.
  • Solid understanding of welding standards (e.g. AWS, ASME), metallurgy, and material selection.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting detailed shop drawings, CAD / CAE designs, and technical blueprints.
  • Experience operating CNC plasma tables—setting up jobs, adjusting parameters, loading / unloading, and conducting finish work.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to work independently or collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency in understanding CAD software ability to create / interpret 2D / 3D designs, weldment models, and detailed shop drawings. Must understand welding standards (AWS, ASME, etc.), interpreting blueprints, specifying material types, tolerances, and joint designs. Experience with fabrication workflows, CNC / CAM integration, dimensioning, and ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet structural and safety codes is essential.
  • Physical resilience and ability to perform labor-intensive work safely; alert to hazards and committed to safe work practices.
  • What We Offer

The chance to be part of landmark projects that shape communities across British Columbia, while building your career with a company that’s been trusted for over 85 years. As part of the Emil Anderson Group of companies, you’ll join a culture where people are more than employees – they’re contributors, owners, and leaders. Here, you’ll have opportunities to learn from industry experts, grow your skills, and make a lasting impact across a diverse range of projects.

  • Union Wages : $44.09 per hour.
  • Union benefits package.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
  • Annual safety recognition and employee appreciation programs.
  • Safety & Compliance

Safety is our highest priority. All employees are expected to work in compliance with company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in toolbox talks and safety training, where applicable.
