The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and data teams to document current-state architectures, define future-state solutions, and ensure alignment with Ontario Public Service (OPS) architecture standards, governance processes, and information management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, document, and modernize legacy system architectures and integration environments.
Assess and map existing data flows, ETL processes, system dependencies, and integration patterns.
Develop architecture deliverables including:
Current-state and future-state architectures
System context diagrams
Data flow diagrams
Interface specifications
Technical and solution design documents
Conduct detailed analysis of Informatica ETL processes, including:
Data lineage
Transformation logic
Workflow dependencies
Performance optimization opportunities
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and compliant solution designs.
Ensure alignment with OPS architecture principles, information management standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate architecture reviews and governance activities.
Support development teams throughout implementation and resolve architecture-related issues.
Identify technical risks, constraints, and impacts associated with legacy systems and integrations.
Map business processes to supporting systems, applications, and data flows.
Promote reuse of existing services, components, and data assets.
Participate in architecture governance forums, stakeholder meetings, and review boards.
Prepare architecture status reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Support knowledge transfer and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Mandatory Qualifications (10+ Years)
Solution Architecture & Legacy SystemsExtensive experience analyzing, documenting, and modernizing legacy systems and complex integration environments.
Strong experience producing solution architecture artifacts and technical design documentation.
Ability to assess technology solutions and recommend appropriate architecture approaches.
Experience performing impact analysis across integrated enterprise systems.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Informatica PowerCenter
Informatica Cloud / IDMC
Expertise in:
ETL mappings
Workflows
Transformations
Performance tuning
Strong knowledge of:
Data architecture
Data integration
Data modeling
Data lineage
Metadata management
Data quality frameworks
Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
Understanding of OPS I&IT standards, architecture frameworks, and governance processes.
Knowledge of AODA accessibility requirements and their impact on solution design.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to identify system dependencies, risks, and impacts.
Experience resolving complex integration and data-related issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to explain architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating design discussions.
