Job descriptionStrong analytical skills and sound judgment. Ability to simplify and explain complex concepts. Excellent negotiation skills. Client‑ and advisor‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Minimum of 3‑5 years of relevant experience in medical underwriting. University degree (Bachelor’s); ALU and FLMI designations are assets. Good proficiency in French, both oral and written. Intermediate level of English proficiency (30–50% of the time). - Analyze medical and non‑medical information to identify any potential risks and issues.
- Take a holistic approach in overall risk assessment.
- Use underwriting guidelines and procedures to make informed decisions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in completing underwriting tasks and processes.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarify issues related to underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure efficient execution of administrative processes.
