The Opportunity

In this role, you will help ensure the reliable flow of materials that enable the manufacturing of transformer technologies supporting today’s power grid. Working within Hitachi Energy’s Transformer business at our Québec City facility, you will contribute to the accuracy of inventory data, the availability of essential materials, and the smooth execution of production activities. Your day‑to‑day work helps maintain steady manufacturing performance, supports quality outcomes, and ensures the plant has everything required to deliver high‑quality transformer products used in power systems across the industry.

You will collaborate closely with planning, procurement, production, engineering, and quality teams while strengthening your skills in materials management, SAP data stewardship, inventory testing, and continuous improvement practices. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting efficient operations and helping advance technologies used throughout the power grid.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and visual verification of Kanban stock.

  • Coordinate the supply of assemblies completed by external subcontractors.

  • Oversee the transfer of raw materials between 3PL locations and the plant.

  • Identify SAP material parameter issues and propose improvements to enhance data quality.

  • Prepare, maintain, and communicate inventory‑related performance indicators.

  • Support continuous improvement by promoting enhancements to procedures and processes.

  • Review daily stock levels, adjust SAP data when needed, and address shortages or surpluses.

  • Study stock rotation rates, validate data through cycle counts, and investigate the root cause of discrepancies.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.

  • DEC in procurement management, operations management, or supply chain management.

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience (other combinations of education and experience may be considered).

  • Proficiency with SAP for material and inventory management activities.

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Advanced French and English, spoken and written.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, multitask, solve problems, show initiative, and collaborate with teams.

More About Us

In this role, you’ll work closely with teams dedicated to supporting reliable manufacturing processes that contribute to the advancement of transformer technologies used throughout the power industry.

  • Opportunities to work on practices that support the future of energy technologies.

  • A collaborative environment with experienced professionals across the power industry.

  • Access to learning platforms and development programs.

  • Attractive health and retirement benefits.

  • Paid leave and flexible work arrangements.
