Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000

The UX/UI Designer will be part of the Experience Design team and e-Commerce division of Home Depot Canada. This person is responsible for understanding complex business, technical and customer problems and translating them into simple and elegant digital solutions – blending research and insights, data and solid intuition. They will also be responsible for creating and designing elements that optimize user interaction and experience on homedepot.ca and the Home Depot mobile application. The ideal candidate will have a creative, yet organized approach to bringing requirements, wireframes and prototypes to life with visual design.
Must be able to clearly communicate vision and know how to balance customer needs and business goals. Success is building strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, IT and other UX team members, and understanding that their seat at the table is to represent the customer’s point of view.
An ideal candidate understands human-centered design, has a passion for making positive change happen and inspiring innovative thinking amongst teammates and stakeholders alike. From a skills perspective, is proficient with the use of UX methodology including research, ideation and prototyping, interaction design, visual design and usability testing. Their portfolio reflects this approach to the work and represents a breadth of experience at different phases of feature and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
5% Strategy & Planning
- Craft end-to-end user experiences that align with business strategies
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability processes, documentation and workflow
85% Delivery & Execution
- Create visual design & product elements for the best possible experience, taking into consideration user research as well as industry & design best practices
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and demos
- Collaborate with UX analysts and designers, copywriters, product managers on scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs
- Adhere to The Home Depot Canada/homedepot.ca design standards by following the digital style guide for all elements, such as buttons, fonts, forms, tables, colors, icons, navigation etc.
- Present UX/UI concepts and designs clearly for feedback, approval and implementation
- Ability to craft visual annotations and functional specifications for development team
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
- Communicate and collaborate with developers throughout UX process and delivery
5% People
- Provide mentorship/introductions to UX for non-UX associates

Minimum Education:
- University/College degree in a related area of study, or equivalent experience
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- 2+ years experience in UX
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of UX experience in an Enterprise or retail environment or a degree in related field
- 2+ years of experience working with agile software development teams
- Desire to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and self-manage complex projects
