What Youll Do :
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day and monthly accounting operations of the organization. Reporting to the Controller this role is accountable for accurate financial data entry account reconciliations reporting and supporting payroll and cash management processes. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial information ensuring compliance with internal controls and contributing to continuous process improvement across the finance function. More specifically :
Accounting Responsibilities :
- Prepare journal entries account reconciliations bank reconciliations and monthly closing activities including accruals.
- Assist in budgeting forecasting and variance analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist with daily treasury and cash flow forecasting.
- Complete regular bank account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management.
- Assist with preparation of HST / QST and other compliance tax and corporate filings.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly quarterly and year-end closing processes.
- Work with the Controller to identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance reporting tools.
- Support implementation of new processes tools and systems as needed.
- Back up accounts payable receivable.
- Assist with preparation for annual audits.
- Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocations and timely financial reporting.
