Overview
Take the next step in your career and join Osler’s Intellectual Property Department in our Ottawa office. We are seeking all seniorities of Patent Agents, including Junior or Patent Agent Trainees with a background in software, electronics, or computer-related subject matter, who is either already qualified, or looking to train to become a certified Canadian Patent Agent. The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include drafting and prosecuting patent applications, primarily in relation to mechanics, electronics, or artificial intelligence / software / computer-related technologies. In this position you will have the opportunity to work with Canada’s largest Emerging and High Growth (EHG) practice group.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications, primarily in relation to mechanics, electronics, or AI / software / computer-related technologies.
- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to understand invention disclosures and develop robust patent strategies.
- Engaging in patent prosecution activities in Canada, with potential exposure to worldwide prosecution as appropriate.
