Job Description

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a 5ton cube truck. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. #CHP

• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• Verify entire content loads prior to leaving manufacturing facility or job site
• Follow all safety procedures for transporting goods
• Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with overtime as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Unload and load product into warehouse in a safe and efficient manner
• Identify, count, sort, pick, package, unpackage, stock and move product in warehouse
• Load product for customer deliveries in a safe, efficient and timely manner
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain required logs
• Complete and maintain required customer delivery paperwork
• Operate delivery vehicle in a safe manner and comply with company and motor vehicle traffic requirements; communicate vehicle problems to Supervisor
• Comply with all material handing company policies and procedures
• Contribute to a safe, orderly, and efficiently operating warehouse
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customer regarding product deliveries
• Perform general housekeeping duties including maintaining a clean work area

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5
• Clean driving record

Skills and Abilities

• Repetitive heavy lifting required
• Ability to work under variable weather conditions
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and walking
• Use of small hand tools, and operation of a 5 ton delivery truck
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Multi-drop delivery experience a plus
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
• Ability to install tire chains as required for winter driving conditions
