Mechanical Designer / CET / Engineer
Kelowna, BC
Full-Time | In-Office
Building Design – HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Systems
Salary: $80k-90k+ (Based on experience)

About the Opportunity
We’re working with a growing and respected consulting firm specializing in mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. With a strong pipeline of projects and a collaborative team environment, they’re expanding their presence in Kelowna and looking to bring on a talented Mechanical Designer, Engineer, or Professional Licensee Engineer (P.L Eng).

The Role
This position is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within the building consultancy space who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. You’ll play a key role in leading mechanical design efforts, engaging directly with clients, and supporting projects from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for a range of building types
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and consultants to deliver coordinated and code-compliant designs
  • Prepare mechanical layouts and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and provide construction-phase support
  • Manage your own project timelines and maintain proactive communication with clients
  • Contribute to a supportive, forward-thinking team culture

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
  • P.L Eng or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility for registration in BC)
  • Strong understanding of local codes, ASHRAE guidelines, and mechanical standards
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation
  • Ability to work independently, manage project responsibilities, and take initiative
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for professional growth and leadership

What’s in It for You

  • A leadership opportunity within a growing regional office
  • Autonomy and flexibility in your work environment
  • Strong internal support and a culture that values innovation, initiative, and mentorship
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and career advancement potential
