Job Summary

The Specialty Pharma Nurse - Registered Nurse reports to the Specialty Pharma Supervisor or Nurse Manager and provides specialized infusion, injectable or pharmacological treatments in home or clinic settings. Responsibilities include monitoring patients for reactions, accurately documenting procedures, reporting timely, and maintaining effective communication with supervisors to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Specialized pharmacological training will be provided. The role offers opportunities to attend conferences and participate in clinical trials, supporting professional growth.

Duties and Responsibilities3>

• Develop and review individualized nursing care plans for each patient.
• Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration teaching.
• Obtain IV access through peripheral initiation or central lines (PICC, IVAD, etc.).
• Prepare and administer a variety of specialized intravenous / injectable pharmacological treatments.
• Provide patient care utilizing observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and report adverse events to the supervisor.
• Perform routine nursing duties per company policies and provincial standards.
• Provide patient‑centered care per care plan or medical directive.
• Perform specialized nursing procedures for which training and competencies have been demonstrated.
• Maintain medication and pharmacovigilance training as required.
• Observe and document patient conditions.
• Report and document adverse events per pharmacovigilance requirements.
• Complete all other duties as requested.
