Job description
DBG Canada Limited has been a leader in the custom metal manufacturing industry since 1976. We craft precision engineered stamped components and value-added solutions for the heavy and medium duty truck industry. We take pride shaping metal with skill & innovation.

We are seeking a driven Engineering & Technical Services Manager to join our Canadian Operations team. This is a high impact role at the centre of our production floor, providing leadership across both Engineering and Maintenance. If you excel at solving complex problems, streamlining operations, and ensuring a fast-paced manufacturing environment runs with precision and reliability, you may be exactly who we’re looking for to join our team.

What you can expect from the team:

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Tooling, and Corporate teams - the core groups that keep our plant running at its best. Whether you’re collaborating with engineers on new product launches or partnering with maintenance and production leaders to maximize uptime, you’ll be at the center of the action. Your work will drive meaningful improvements that elevate our manufacturing performance and support our long-term success.
Your Leadership Focus:
  • Lead and manage cross‑functional teams to plan, develop, and implement new or modified manufacturing and stamping processes from concept through launch and into stable production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including feasibility studies, PFMEAs, control plans, and process audits to ensure safe, high quality, and efficient operations.
  • Provide hands on engineering leadership to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving tooling, dies, presses, automation, and supporting equipment, escalating when necessary.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications, coordinate vendor engagement, obtain competitive quotations, and prepare comprehensive Capital Expenditure (CapEx) proposals.
  • Build, manage, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all plant equipment is maintained for maximum reliability, safety, and uptime, supporting uninterrupted production flow.
  • Monitor, analyze, and act on key maintenance KPIs such as downtime, asset utilization, and schedule adherence.
  • Evaluate and develop new manufacturing technologies including assessing make versus buy opportunities to support cost, quality, and capacity goals.

What you will bring to our team:
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in plant engineering, process control, and high-volume production operations.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment performance, metal stamping operations, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to independently design and optimize processes, layouts, and workflows to support efficiency and scalability.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized, with a disciplined approach to documentation, planning, and execution.
  • Track record of delivering measurable process improvements, including line balancing, cycle‑time reduction, and productivity gains.
  • Solid project management capability within live production environments, ensuring safe, timely, and cost‑effective implementation.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, assessing process capabilities, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Experience leading and coordinating multi skilled teams, resolving complex technical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or related college diploma, supported by hands‑on technical and operational experience.

What we offer:
  • We are proud and nimble company where your efforts result in visible change.
  • Working environment where safety is our priority.
  • Take on high impact production work that keeps operations moving and delivers real results.
  • Become a part of our own 6σ based DTMS program.
  • A tight knit, team first environment where everyone collaborates and supports each other towards a common goal.
  • Take ownership of driving change through continuous improvement.
  • Employer-matched RRSP program.
  • Education reimbursement program to support professional growth.
  • Comprehensive medical, vision and dental benefits.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Company led social events and team-building activities.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and valued.

In compliance with Ontario’s Bill 190, we confirm that this posting represents a current, existing vacancy within our organization.
We are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If you require accommodation at any stage of the hiring process, please let us know, and we will work with you to meet your needs.
