Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join a well-established manufacturing team in Elora, Ontario. This hands-on position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy industrial machinery—including large presses and extruders—while working on legacy equipment. You will enjoy a predictable 4-day workweek, flexible shift timing built around core hours, and a highly competitive compensation package.

Location: Elora
Role: Industrial Electrician 442a
Shift: Straight Nights - 4x10 hour shifts
Payrate: $43-47/hour

Advantages
Competitive Pay: $43.00 – $47.00/hr starting rate, based on experience.
Shift Premiums: +$1.00/hr for afternoon hours (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM); +$2.00/hr for night hours (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
4-Day Schedule: Work 4x10 shifts with straight night coverage and flexible scheduling options (core mandatory hours on-site are 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM).
Strong Pension Plan: 5% employee contribution matched by a 6% company contribution.
Vacation & Extras: 3 weeks of vacation to start, paid uniforms, $1,000 annual tool allowance, and $1,000 annual education assistance program.

Responsibilities
Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency electrical maintenance across plant equipment, motors, drives, PLC systems, wiring, and instrumentation.
Safely execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for major machinery, including under-gate access on large presses for component inspections and seal replacements.
Diagnose electrical, electronic, and control system issues on older/legacy manufacturing machinery to maximize equipment uptime.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and participate in facility call-in coverage as needed.
Maintain plant lighting, standby power systems, and battery charging stations for material handling equipment.
Support continuous improvement projects, assist with parts inventory tracking, and work alongside external contractors.
Maintain a safe work area, adhering to company safety procedures and Quality Management System standards.

Qualifications
Valid Industrial Electrician license (309A or 442A)
Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Solid experience working with PLCs, motors, drives, relay logic, and industrial control circuits.
Comfort working around legacy machinery, heavy equipment (presses, extruders), and executing standard LOTO/safety protocols.
Strong self-management skills to operate effectively on a dedicated night schedule.
