New grads are welcome to apply!
The surgery service at Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre is looking to add another dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to our team.
The caseload is diverse and interesting; our anesthesia technologists not only induce and monitor patients while under anesthesia, but they also place arterial lines, perform epidurals, and perform femoral and sciatic nerve blocks for orthopedic procedures with the assistance of a nerve finder.
If you have an interest in pursuing a VTS in Anesthesia / Analgesia, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, led by an experienced VTS in Anesthesia / Analgesia who provides excellent support and mentoring. Previous anesthesia experience in a referral centre is an asset, but not a requirement. Highly motivated and confident new graduates with above-average anesthesia experience and interest are also encouraged to apply.
Schedule : Hours of work will generally be Monday through Thursday. Candidates should have some flexibility to be available on evenings and weekends, should coverage be needed in other areas of the hospital.
About Our Ideal Candidate :
While anesthesia is the main focus of this position, other requirements of RVTs in the surgery service include, but are not limited to :
Completion of the Registered Veterinary Technician Program
Excellent customer service and client communication
Excellent technical skills
Keen interest in anesthesia, and a desire to continue to improve their current skills as well as learn new ones.
