JOB SUMMARY

TheSpeech-LanguagePathologist,underthedirectionoftheManagerofRehabilitationorClinicalManager-Branchlevel,isresponsibleforcompletionofprofessionalactivitiesthatinclude : assessment,treatment, education,andmanagementof clientsrequiringSpeechandLanguagePathologyintervention, inaccordance withprofessionalstandards.

ClinicalResponsibilities :

Responsiblefortheassessmentofclients,establishmentandongoingevaluationandrevisionoftreatmentprograms,includinggoalsanddischargeplans.Maintainscurrentaccurateclinicalrecords accordingtostandardssetbytheCollegeofAudiologistsandSpeech-languagePathologists ofOntario.Documents assessmentresults,goals, treatment,clientprogressanddischarge plans.
Collaborateswithothermembersofthehealthcareteamasneeded..
Communicatespertinentinformationandrecommendationstoclients / careprovidersandprovides education regardingtreatmentstrategiesas needed.
Observestheperformanceofthoseassistinginthespeechandlanguageprogramandprovidesguidance as necessary.

OtherResponsibilities

Maintain activestandingwith theCollegeofAudiologistsandSpeech-LanguagePathologistsofOntario.

Participateinongoing internaland / orexternaleducationactivities

Job Qualification

Education

MastersDegreeor recognized equivalentin Speech-LanguagePathology. Registered and in goodstandingwiththeCollege ofAudiologists orSpeech-Language PathologistsofOntario..

Experience

Preference ofthreeyearsproviding Speech-LanguagePathologyservices.Experiencecompletingin-home assessmentsand treatments;knowledge ofautoinsurance and legalsystemis anassetparticularlymedical / legalreportwriting.

OtherSkillsandAbilities

Enjoyworkingwithclients ofallagesin multipletreatmentenvironments.Strongcommunication(oralandwritten)andexceptionalinterpersonalanddecision-makingskills.Abilitytohandledifficultsituationsinanobjectiveandconsistentmanner.Abilitytoworkindependentlyandtoeffectivelycollaboratewithateam.Demonstratebasicknowledgeofpersonalcomputers,andproficiencywithsecureemail. Commitmenttocontinuedlearning. Validdriver’slicense.
