Job description

Title :  Speech-Language Pathologist Start Date : September 2, 2025 Position Type : Permanent Position Open To :  Internal & External Applicants Posting Overview : Reporting to the Supervisor of School Based Clinical and Therapy Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist will support the speech and language development of students and capacity building in educators using a Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework. The successful applicant will provide screening, assessment, consultative, programming and direct services to support a varied caseload of students with a range of communication delays or disorders; from nonverbal complex communicators to highly verbal students. Other duties will be as assigned by the Supervisor of School Based Clinical and Therapy Services. The Speech-Language Pathologist will effectively collaborate with teachers and other itinerant team members, including assigning caseload and providing clinical direction to Communicative Disorders Assistants. Qualifications / Experience :

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required;
  • Professional certification with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CALSPO) is required;
  • Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is an asset. Other Key Skills & Knowledge :
  • Proven ability to work successfully in partnership with students, schools, system staff and department;
  • Knowledge of current research in assessment and evidence-based intervention methods;
  • Excellent organization and communication skills;
  • Must be knowledgeable about a tiered approach to intervention;
  • Ability to be self-directed in a complex work environment demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to varied school contexts;
  • Ability to quickly establish effective interpersonal relationships;
  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), audiological screening protocols and supporting students with complex communication needs is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with attention to detail for report writing, documentation, meetings and presentations to large audiences;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including MS Teams, Word, OneNote and Excel;
  • Must have access to reliable transportation as travel will be required throughout the district. Position Effective Date & Length : Two positions available.Permanent CUPE, 35 hours / week. Working 10 months, paid over 12 months. Schedule B - $80,272 / annum - $84,932 / annumHome location to be determined.
