Role

Industrial Electricians install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial environments to ensure safe and reliable operations. The role involves working with motors, PLCs, drives, control panels, and power distribution systems in compliance with procedures and applicable regulations. The position requires diagnosing electrical faults, performing preventive maintenance, supporting production, and responding to breakdowns while following all health and safety requirements.

Please note: Tenaris requires employees to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and fit test for this position as it is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control system issues, including PLC‑related faults, to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
  • Perform testing and inspections of electrical systems and components to verify performance, safety, and compliance with specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements while maintaining a safe and hazard‑free work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve electrical issues and support operational efficiency.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities to proactively address potential failures and extend equipment life.
  • Respond effectively to emergency and breakdown situations, providing timely technical support to reduce production disruptions.
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to electrical work, including repairs, modifications, and installations.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Technologist Diploma (or equivalent) or successful completiion of apprenticeship program.
  • Industrial Electrician (442A) Certification is an asset.

Skills:

  • This role involves a considerable amount of standing and walking (up to 12 hours per shift).
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Must be comfortable working at various heights and willing to climb stairs.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is very important.
  • Ability to listen, to express thoughts and ideas to others and present information, written and/or verbal in a
  • clear, concise, logical manner.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend English work instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude is necessary, plus a strong command of basic math skills (addition, subtraction,
  • multiplication and division).
  • Able to work independently with the ability to co-operate, assist others, possess a positive attitude, build
  • relationships and takes part in teams and committees.
  • Must work in a safe manner, following health and safety policies and procedures.
