JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Senior Supervisor, Black Operations, the Production Supervisor oversees part of the production and operational processes during the night shift. They will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling production activities and personnel for the heat treatment, maintenance, pickling, shipping, and secondary operations departments. They will also ensure that safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage work teams during the night shift, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, priorities, and performance objectives;
• Manage priorities and follow up appropriately with the relevant departments;
• Collaborate with peers in administering company policies;
• Lead and support continuous improvement work groups;
• Set performance standards, identify gaps, implement appropriate corrective actions, and recognize good performance;
• Monitor and maintain appropriate health & safety requirements during the shift to ensure personnel safety;
• Evaluate staff performance and complete the relevant forms;
• Validate employees' electronic time punches (weekly);
• Schedule vacations, plan replacements, and manage overtime for the team;
• Implement new work methods that promote flexibility and efficiency;
• Perform any other related duties.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma;
• Training in operations management or other related fields is an asset;
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role;
• Experience in a unionized and manufacturing environment;
• Functional knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and maintenance software applications;
• Strong leadership skills and a solid aptitude for teamwork;
• Demonstrate professionalism and efficiency in communications;
• Knowledge of machine mechanics in forming and/or heat treatment would be a significant asset.
