Role and Objectives :
The Estimator plays a key role in producing precise and competitive estimates for Mass Timber projects. This includes interpreting design documents, analyzing scope, and preparing compliant budgets, tenders, and quantity take-offs. With Kalesnikoff's continued growth and the expansion of our modular operations, this position provides the chance to support cutting-edge projects and be part of a company pushing the boundaries of Mass Timber construction.
Responsibilities :
Estimating & Cost Development
- Build 3D geometry models off structural / architectural drawings for use in producing estimates.
- Solicit supply pricing and develop a solid understanding of products available in the market.
- Develop budgets using preliminary design documents.
- Provide options to the project team on how to modify designs to improve pricing.
- Use provided load calculations to determine material grades and connection types.
- Review quote requests to determine if projects are worth pursuing.
- Follow up and track quoted project work.
