Tasks

• Operate or tend automatic or multi-purpose machines to produce metal parts and metal products
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements
• Clean, polish, file or otherwise finish products
• Check products for quality and other specifications
• Clean work area
• Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools
• Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
• Test and check electrical assemblies and wiring for proper connection

• Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
• Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload (for example: flexible or reduced work hours, part time employment, project-based or seasonal work, etc.)
• Provides workspace accommodations, such as age-appropriate ergonomic considerations, to meet the physical needs of mature workers (for example: adjustable desks and chairs, accessible parking, etc.)
