Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom / Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally.
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our High Speed IO Connector team.
The position will be in person at 5950 14th Avenue, Markham, ON, L3S 4M4. Responsibilities As a Reliability Engineer you will provide the lead in supporting the development of new products through simulation, testing and analysis of data and designs. Support the development of new HSIO product portfolio and corresponding processes via mechanical simulation, testing and qualification.
- Perform engineering tasks across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, materials, systems, and testing.
- Support product design through mechanical analysis, including tolerance analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), materials analysis, failure analysis, and test plan development.
- Lead component-level reliability planning, testing, and analysis (CRAM).
- Manage system-level reliability planning, testing, and analysis (ERAM).
- Conduct Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
- Perform Failure Analysis and Root Cause investigation.
- Develop test sequences, procedures, and DOE plans to assess the long-term reliability of electrical connectors, considering customer use and application requirements.
- Analyze and process testing results, generating reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Present simulation and test results to internal and external customers.
- Prepare test samples, create test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, and collaborate with test lab technicians.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in various test equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to support the development and validation of product prototypes and pilot production, while also interfacing with beta-site customers.
