Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor oversees a team of unionized employees in a manufacturing environment to ensure that production targets are consistently met. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and HR to optimize production processes, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and support continuous improvement across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of unionized production employees on the shop floor, providing clear direction, coaching, and support.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
  • Coordinate production activities with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and HR to align schedules, resolve issues, and support plant objectives.
  • Monitor and manage production scheduling and material flow to minimize downtime and ensure optimal use of equipment and resources.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machinery, including CNC equipment, ensuring operators follow established procedures.
  • Apply statistical process control and operator process control methods to monitor production performance and maintain process stability.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives using Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support and enforce company policies, procedures, and work rules in a unionized environment, including attendance, performance, and safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong conflict resolution and team-building abilities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with rotating shifts that operate on a 2-week rotation: 2 weeks on midnights, 2 weeks on afternoons, and 2 weeks on days. The standard shift times are Days: 7:30 . to 3:30 ., Afternoons: 3:30 . to 11:30 ., and Midnights: 11:30 . to 7:30 .

The environment includes industrial production lines, tooling and toolroom operations, and CNC machinery. The work setting is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring frequent interaction with production operators, maintenance personnel, and other functional departments. Employees work around manufacturing equipment and machinery, following established safety protocols and production procedures.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $92000.00/yr.
