Summary

The Maintenance Control Specialist is responsible for the overall maintenance control process of an assigned aircraft fleet portfolio through adequate airworthiness technical dispatch administration, maintenance program efficiency, and technical records control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily review of Journey Log reported defects and maintenance performed to ensure conformity with regulations and company approved policies
  • Ensure the Weight and Balance calculation of addendums to W&B and Equipment List (Basic Empty Weight Only) are reviewed, prepared, and report to Flight Operations Department
  • Prepare and obtain Ferry Flight Permit(s) including validation when foreign country is involved
  • Provide operational dispatch support
  • Prepare Initial and updates of Maintenance Schedule Approvals for the company fleet
  • Ensure Computerized Aircraft Maintenance Control Software Updates and Integrity of data (overdue and timely updates of maintenance performed due list)
  • Monitor OEM’s changes and implementation of new requirements (Airworthiness Directives (AD), Maintenance Plan Documentation (MPL), Time Limited Maintenance Control (TLMC), Service Bulletin (SB), Service Level (SL), etc.)
  • Prepare event work scope in collaboration with Contract Management and Assigned AME/Contracted AMO (as applicable)
  • Review and Authorize Aircraft Return to Service
  • Elaborate and Maintain Supplement Type Certificate Applicability list and Library
  • Ensure W&B History is complete and latest copy available and accurate
  • Ensure Equipment List is current with regards to modifications and SB performed since build
  • Ensure Airframe, Engine, APU, Propellers, and Appliance AD applicability list is up to date
  • Supervise Airworthiness Control for Maintenance performed transcriptions to the applicable paper Technical Logs (Airframe, Engine, Propellers, APU)
  • Audit Aircraft Technical Records History (W&B, AD, SB, repairs, STC, MSA Bridging, Engine, Airframe, and Records Completeness)
  • Where aircraft is imported, perform work required to obtain Canadian Certificate of Airworthiness

Requirements

  • College Degree in aircraft maintenance
  • 3-5 years' experience as Aircraft Operator in Maintenance Control department
  • Keen analytical skills wth ability to ask probing and relevant questions. Focused on finding solutions
  • Great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated continuing improvement attitude
  • Solid work ethic
  • Proven communication skills verbal and written, English and French
  • Autonomous and discerning
  • Knowledge of Operator's Canadian maintenance requirements regulations
  • Computer savvy with advanced Excel skills
