THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team in Vancouver, BC Schedule: Two (2) days at Braddan Private Hospital and two (2) days at Point Grey Private Hospital Duties and Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy services to enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes, promote independence and improve comfort.
Perform regular assessments on resident’s physical status, mobility and goals including but RAI-MDS, care plans, transfer and mobility assessments.
Participate in regular in-service training and continuing education that align with Vancouver Coastal Health and The Care Group Contribute to the delivery of physiotherapy service at the facility by participating in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, conducting research, conducting in-services as well as other related education such as sling selection.
Support with assessment, plans and evaluation of walking program for residents.
Collaborate with the Recreation team to support activities that promote mobility and general activation (i.e exercise programs) Qualifications: Full registration and membership with of the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia Two (2) to five (5) years of clinical experience Passionate about dementia and elder care Believe in continuing education to further your practice.
Work well in a team and believe in an interdisciplinary approach to person centered care.
Skills and Abilities : Must possess the personal qualities and attitudes that respect and maintain the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the residents.
Must have a commitment to excellence in Care of the older person in a Long-Term Care environment.
Must be committed and understand working with residents with dementia.
Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and is able to establish and maintain relationships with Ownership/management team, staff, residents, resident’s families, and external agencies.
Demonstrates good time management.
Physically and mentally able to perform duties for above position.
Show a professional, caring, and considerate attitude to residents, visitors, and staff.

Point Grey Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano.
Point Grey, significantly expanded and improved in 2020, offers 153 licensed residential care beds consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms.
Point Grey boasts views of the mountains and ocean as well as large windows and homelike furnishings.
This home has four stories with a dining area, recreation areas and a large outdoor patio on each floor.
The desirable location and freshly decorated interior provides our clients with a comfortable and homelike environment.
Point Grey Private Hospital works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds but also has five private pay rooms available.
